Students often hear of the horror of taking Biology 220 and 221 (Survey of Anatomy and Physiology) due to its difficulty. I am here to tell you that it is possible to pass this course and do so with an A. Both the lecture and the lab are essential to any pre-healthcare biology students; however, the lab is often overlooked because it is only one credit hour. This course is vital though, since it provides hands on learning and application of theory. It is a must to not only pass this course, but to retain the knowledge learned also. This is precisely why I chose this specific course for my website project.
This course is generally considered a sophomore level course and usually is taken by all pre-healthcare students. Biology 221 is designed to give students a basic understanding of human anatomy by utilizing cat cadavers and learning the basic principles of human physiology. I know from experience that just because it is the basics does not mean it is only generalized material. Students must learn many specific details such as bone names, all heart physiology processes, tissue identification, etc., in very short periods of time. Undergraduates who will be taking this course will benefit from this website because they will be able to access resources which will enhance their knowledge of the material. The aim is to help students not only to pass the course with an A, but also to learn as well.
Resources were selected due to course relevance and study tools provided. They are grouped into two sections found below: Anatomy Resources and Physiology Resources.
ANATOMY RESOURCES:

http://www.wiley.com/college/apcentral/anatomydrill/
Anatomy Drill and Practice website by John Wiley and Sons, Inc. provides practice labeling and identifcation exercises for all areas of anatomy. The main page is organized by the different areas of anatomy and includes subheadings underneath each to more specific areas. This is a great introductory site for students just beginning Biology 221 at ULL.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzv3xCdix94
An educational video recorded during a Biology 221 class at ULL that guides students in basic organ anatomy using a cat dissection. Respiratory and digestive organ anatomy are labeled and discussed shortly throughout. The video covers material that all University of Louisiana at Lafayette Biology 221 students are required to know and therefore is extremely useful for the future student.

Designed to give students a thorough knowledge of human bone names and bone components, this website by McGraw-Hill is a perfect study tool. It incorporates human bone labeling exercises which are accessed by clicking on the various links organized alphabetically on the main page. It is extremely user-friendly and a perfect study tool for the bone exam given in Biology 221 at ULL.
http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/class/bio201/histoprc/prac1a2.htm
Created by J. Crimando, Ph.D. at GateWay Community College in Phoenix, AZ, this site presents histology practice exercises. Twenty practice questions are given and may be accessed by clicking on the question number at the top of the page. Each question consists of identifying the tissue presented, structures inside the tissue, fibers present, etc. This is a very beneficial study tool for the histology exam given in Biology 221.
PHYSIOLOGY RESOURCES:

Get an A in Your Class With Our Physiology Notes
http://www.sglearnonline.com/learn-physiology.html
The physiology section of SG Learn Online's website is comprised of relevant physiology information for Biology 221 students. The information is broken down into subtopics mainly by bodily systems which are further broken down into more specific details. There are also physiology problems to be practiced that can be accessed by clicking on the link "Physiology Problems" centered near the bottom of the page. This is an ideal introductory tool for ULL Biology 221 students.
Get Body Smart: An Online Textbook about Human Anatomy and Physiology
Scott Sheffield, a university teacher, created this interactive site that allows students to explore the various areas of anatomy and physiology. These areas are broken down by different bodily system. It is a good study tool for anatomy; however, the physiology information presented should be the primary focus of students accessing this site. The information pertains directly to physiology material covered in Biology 221 and is useful as a tool to test one's knowledge.
Anatomy & Phsyiology 1 Animations Movies & Interactive Tutorial Links
http://nhscience.lonestar.edu/biol/ap1int.htm#transport
This is a reference website created by Lone Star College at North Harris in Houston, Texas that contains links to multiple sites of anatomy and physiology study tools. The main of the references are pertinent to the physiology material covered in Biology 221. It is very useful for the student who learns better through visual aids as all of the linked pages have interactive tutorials, animations, and movies.
Human Physiology
http://cwx.prenhall.com/bookbind/pubbooks/silverthorn2/
Dee Silverthorn, Ph.D. created this website to be used in conjunction with the textbook Human Physiology. Students can access the different chapters by selecting one from the drop down bar and then clicking an option on the left column. Though this isn't the textbook used in Biology 221, the quizzes and writing exercises provided are useful for those looking to fine tune their knowledge of any physiology information.
